4 Habits that Make a Real Estate Agent Successful

A career in real estate offers lucrative rewards; there’s no doubt about it. But have you noticed that despite putting in consistent efforts and significant amount of time and money, some real estate agents remain unsuccessful at achieving their career objectives? On the other hand, there are others who turn everything they touch into ‘sold’.
Over more than 25 years as a real estate agent in Atlanta, I have worked with a number of real estate mentors and successful agents and have observed that there are a few habits that differentiate great real estate agents from good real estate agents.
So, if you are looking to establish an Atlanta real estate career, consider building the following 4 habits to increase your likelihood of finding success in the real estate industry.

1. They Return Calls and Emails Promptly

Networking plays a great role in the success of a real estate agent based in Atlanta. Successful real estate agents respond to all calls and emails from prospective buyers and sellers, as well as their colleagues promptly. This helps them establish their identity as a client-focused real estate agent, as well as build a circle of influence that they can leverage to capture more leads and get referrals.

2. They Stay Abreast with the Latest Technology

I am not saying that successful real estate agents are phone addicts, but they do know how to make optimal use of all available resources, particularly the latest technology. They use the best CRM software, lead management solutions, and marketing tools to capture and nurture leads.

3. They Prospect Regularly

I have said this a number of times before that without consistent prospecting, no real estate agent can find success. Prospecting is the lifeblood of a successful Atlanta real estate career. If you are not cold calling, sending out email newsletters, and farming the neighborhood you have selected as your geographic farm, you cannot build a consistent stream of leads and convert them into customers to earn revenue. Therefore, we can establish that successful real estate agents prospect daily, regardless of the fact that they have established a reputable position in the industry.

4. They Have an Extensive Professional Network

Successful real estate agents use their communication skills to build a network of property appraisers, lenders, insurance companies, and contractors who share their mission of providing top-quality services to customers. This allows them to provide a comprehensive range of real estate services to customers and assist them throughout the transaction, right from the home search to closing.
These are the four habits that, in my opinion, play a critical role in the success of an Atlanta real estate agent.
